Industry Overview

Municipal water and wastewater infrastructure — 35 years of EPC + O&M

SR Paryavaran Engineers designs, builds and operates municipal water and wastewater infrastructure for urban local bodies (ULBs), municipal corporations and state urban development agencies across India. Our anchor municipal reference is the AMRUT package executed for Haryana Urban Local Bodies — 15 Sewage Treatment Plants and 100 kilometres of sewerage pipeline across Panchkula and Gurugram, ₹75 Cr, delivered as a single EPC scope.

The company's wider portfolio carries 400+ MLD of installed wastewater treatment capacity, 450+ packaged Membrane Bioreactors and 6,000+ delivered systems across 35 years — the same engineering, fabrication and O&M capability brought to public-sector tenders since 1990. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified — the documentation discipline that tender-driven municipal procurement requires.

What We Deliver

Our scope for municipal projects

SRPEPL delivers the full municipal water and wastewater scope — from STPs and sewerage to tertiary reuse, FSTP and drinking water treatment — under a single engineering team with its own membrane manufacturing and regional O&M network.

STP
Sewage Treatment Plants
Full-scope EPC from sub-1 MLD packaged units to multi-MLD distributed STP networks — MBR (AEROFLO), MBBR, SBR and conventional ASP. Technology selected against site constraints, not defaulted.
Sewerage
Sewerage Networks
Gravity mains, rising mains, manholes, pumping stations and house service connections — trenchless and open-cut. AMRUT Haryana included 100 km of sewerage as a single EPC scope.
TTP
Tertiary Treatment & Water Reuse
RO and UF-based recycle for non-potable municipal reuse — horticulture, construction, dust suppression, flushing and industrial sale-back. Multiple AMRUT STPs include tertiary reuse provision.
FSTP
Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants
Septage receiving, dewatering and treatment for ULBs operating under Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban and state FSSM policies. Integrated with the ULB's septage management chain.
WTP
Drinking Water Treatment
Surface and groundwater treatment for municipal supply, including UF-based plants for community-scale potability and containerised / packaged WTPs for rural and semi-urban schemes.
O&M / DBO
Long-term O&M and DBO
Multi-year O&M and DBO contracts with structured performance guarantees — typically 5–10 years. Supported by five regional after-sales offices. Currently operating 26 municipal systems in Gurugram.

Technology Selection

STP technologies for municipal applications

Technology selection is driven by site constraints — available footprint, treated water reuse intent, sludge handling capacity at the ULB, and the operating budget envelope — rather than a single default. SRPEPL works across all four mainstream configurations.

MBR
Membrane Bioreactor
AEROFLO flat-sheet membranes — manufactured in-house. Smallest footprint, highest effluent quality, RO-ready permeate. Ideal where land is constrained or treated water is directed to non-potable reuse.
450+ packaged MBR systems delivered
MBBR
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor
Compact, high-volumetric-loading. Effective for capacity upgrades in existing tanks — plastic carrier media added without full civil reconstruction. Lower sludge production than conventional ASP.
Suited to capacity extensions and retrofits
SBR
Sequencing Batch Reactor
No separate secondary clarifier. Handles high flow variation — suited for municipal flows that vary sharply between day and night. Biological N and P removal achievable in the same tank.
Standard for mid-to-large municipal STPs
ASP / EA
Conventional Activated Sludge / Extended Aeration
Most widely deployed in India. Low sludge production, proven operation, operator-friendly. Default specification where treated water need not meet reuse-grade quality and land is available.
Rural ULBs and peri-urban STPs
< coastal / island desalination application

Mission Programmes

Central and state mission programmes SRPEPL serves

India's urban water and wastewater infrastructure is built largely through centrally sponsored mission programmes. SRPEPL's EPC and O&M models are built around tender-driven public-sector procurement — audited billing, CPWD/SoR-referenced rates, performance-linked operations and full documentation discipline.

AMRUT / AMRUT 2.0
Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation
Sewage treatment, sewerage networks and water supply for cities with 100,000+ population. SRPEPL's anchor: ₹75 Cr EPC for Haryana ULBs.
SBM(U)
Swachh Bharat Mission — Urban
Faecal sludge management, septage treatment plants (FSTP) and sanitation infrastructure for ULBs under the national sanitation programme.
Namami Gange
National Mission for Clean Ganga
STP EPC and sewerage for towns and cities in the Ganga basin — typically with civil works within EPC scope and multi-year O&M obligations.
JJM / NRCP
Jal Jeevan Mission & State Water Supply
Drinking water treatment plants — surface and groundwater — under state and central water supply schemes for semi-urban and rural ULBs.
Procurement fit: SRPEPL maintains an empanelment and credentials dossier covering ISO certifications, contract execution history, financial standing and tender-eligibility documentation — available to qualified ULBs and consultants on request.
